200 North

If you are looking for that down-home diner experience, this is a great option.  I recommend the Buffalo chicken wrap but my husband swears by the veggie plate!

222 N Central Ave, Locust, NC 28097

The Digs:

This is a southern diner feel with lots of parking. Wait to be seated and check the hostess stand where the special of the day is posted. There are booths and small tables. They have a closed-off room available for large parties, or they can open it up on busy days to accommodate more people.

The Grub:

I normally eat here for breakfast and it is a standard diner-style menu with eggs, grits, hash browns, pancakes, and French toast. You’re not going to find anything fancy here but the food is good. I rank this breakfast higher than other places in the area because the space is decorated nicely and they have decent butter (I am picky about butter). I like that they bring out a big basket of bread with whatever types of toast the table requested.

If I go here for lunch or dinner, the best thing I have found on the menu is the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, but I like to sub the chicken with shrimp. It is delicious! I like the taste of their buffalo sauce because it seems to mix nicely with the other ingredients in the wrap. Standard crinkle fries top it off.

You can also come here and get a typical southern-style meat and veggie plate with vegetable offerings for the day.

The Service:

They always seem to have lovely people serving the tables here. They’ll keep your sweet tea flowing and make sure you have any needed condiments.

The Scratch (Per Person):

$0-$15

The Duds:

This is a casual spot although, on a Sunday afternoon, you’re going to find a slightly dressed-up church crowd.

Take Note:

They’ll bring your check with your meal so you can relax and leave whenever you’re ready.

You pay at the cash register.
