Five Points Public House

If you’re looking for a good patio restaurant in Albemarle, this is a great option.  The salads are gigantic and I personally love their meatloaf!

304 East Main Street. Albemarle, NC 28001

The Digs:

Five Points Public House has an industrial feel  with booths and tables available. The  bar is located at the front of the restuarant and seats 10 or so people. There are two, multi-stalled bathrooms, marked  “Men” and  “Women”. I can’t vouch for the Men’s room, but the Women’s room stall doors did not  seem to lock properly.

The only downfall of this place in my opinion is the smell inside. So I’d grab a table outside if it is nice.

There is a small parking lot in the back and lots of street parking, so you may have to walk a little, but you should be able to find a spot. Across the street, you’ll also find a public parking lot.

The Grub:

I’ve been here many times and have tried just about everything. I’d say the highlights are:

  • The salads! They are HUGE! I get them often for lunch and they will definitely fill you up. The veggies are always fresh and chilled and you can pick 7  or make your own salad. They took away the traditional balsamic dressing a while back, which was a major disappointment, but their replacement was a white balsamic and it’s decent. Not as good as the other, but it will do and they also have a great Ranch.
  • The Meatloaf! This might seem like an odd choice, but it is one of my favorites and even better paired with their collard greens.I personally think these are the best collards in Stanly County. The sauce they serve  with the meatloaf is a barbecue sauce and it is super yummy.
  • The chicken tenders! These are always beautifully cooked, juicy, and breaded perfectly. Dip those babies in some honey mustard and you won’t be disappointed.
  • The Waffle Fries!  Grab these as a side. They’re big, lightly breaded and delicious.

The Service:

Usually pretty good. They’re attentive and helpful. Be aware that it does get quite busy here on the weekends and it is not unusual  for them to have a 45 minute wait.

The Scratch (Per Person):

16-30

The Duds:

Wear anything, but most people do dress up a little here. Jeans with a nice shirt will do just fine.

Take Note:

They have a BEAUTIFUL room upstairs you can rent out for events. If one isn’t going on when you visit, ask to see it. I have been there a few times when they had the upstairs open for guests waiting for a table. They served apps and drinks while you waited which I LOVE but they don’t offer that often.
