If you’re looking for a hip, local hangout with a great selection of beers and some yummy bar food, this is a great place to check out!
175 Ray Kennedy Drive Locust, NC
The Digs:
This place is super cool with a hip retro vibe. Clean and bright! Booths and table seating including a large bar. If you are visiting on a weekend, plan for a long wait, sometimes as long as 3 hours! When I visit, I tend to try to get there on a weekday, but even then it can be quite busy.
The Grub:
Get the bacon appetizer. It’s always fantastic and they have a few different flavors including a pork belly option. On my most recent trip, I also had the breakfast burrito stuffed with eggs and hashbrowns with beans and salsa. It was very good.
The Service:
Pretty good. Both times I’ve been they were super friendly, helpful, and prompt. This time the bartender was super busy and gave me the check before asking if I was done, so he (and I) missed out on me getting an espresso martini!
The Scratch (Per Person):
$16-$30, especially if you’re having a couple of drinks
The Duds:
Wear anything. People were there in everything from sweatpants to dresses.
Take Note:
You’re likely to have a wait, especially on the weekends. I’ve heard of 3 hour waits on Saturdays and Sundays. I went on a Saturday at 1pm as a single person and sat at the bar instantly, but there were a lot of people in parties of 3 and 4 waiting.
